The 2" 90 Pump Union O-ring is the rubber sealing ring inside a 2" 90-degree pump union — the elbow-style plumbing fitting used where a pump connects to plumbing that needs to turn 90° right at the pump body (common in tight equipment-bay layouts). When this O-ring fails, you get a slow drip at the elbow, lost pump prime, or in bad cases a pump that won't pull water cleanly.
When to replace: Any time you notice water dripping from the 90° union, when the existing ring shows cracks, flat spots, or has gone brittle, or any time you're disconnecting the pump for service. The 90° fittings are slightly more prone to slow leaks than straight unions because the geometry concentrates stress at the seal.
How to install: Drain the spa below the union before disassembling. Remove the old O-ring, clean the seating groove with a paper towel, lightly coat the new O-ring with plumbing-safe silicone lubricant, and seat it cleanly. Hand-tighten the union — never use a wrench on a plastic spa union.
Quick tips:
- If your union is a straight 2" rather than 90°, you need the 2" Pump Union O-ring instead
- Buy a spare — you only need it when something is already leaking, and you don't want to be hunting for one mid-fix
- Bring the old O-ring to one of our three Ontario showrooms if you're not sure which size or style fits your union
