Arctic Pure Refresh — Non-Chlorine Shock Oxidizer for Hot Tubs & Spas

Arctic Pure Refresh is a non-chlorine shock treatment that oxidizes organic contaminants in your hot tub water without raising chlorine or bromine levels. It breaks down body oils, lotions, sweat, and other waste compounds that build up with regular spa use, and eliminates chloramines — the irritating byproducts responsible for that harsh "chemical" smell and cloudy water.

Refresh uses potassium monopersulfate (MPS), an oxygen-based oxidizer trusted across the spa industry. Unlike chlorine shock, MPS lets you get back in the water in as little as 15–20 minutes after treatment, making it ideal for a quick post-soak shock before putting your cover back on.

When to use it: Add Refresh to your spa water weekly as part of your regular maintenance routine, or after each use if you have a heavy bather load. It works with all sanitizer systems — chlorine, bromine, salt water (Onzen and Spa Boy), and ozone. Refresh is not a sanitizer on its own, so continue using your regular chlorine or bromine alongside it.

How to use it: Make sure no one is in the spa and that your pumps are running. Pour 15 g of Refresh per 1,000 litres (220 gallons) into the spa. Leave the cover off and let the water circulate for at least 20 minutes before covering or re-entering.

Why shock weekly? Every time someone uses your hot tub, they introduce organic compounds that your regular sanitizer works to break down. Over time these build up, forming chloramines (in chlorine systems) or bromamines (in bromine systems) that reduce sanitizer effectiveness and irritate skin and eyes. A weekly oxidizing shock with Refresh clears these compounds out, keeping your sanitizer working efficiently and your water clear.
